Connected Speech
Fluent speech groups words into ideas. Sounds may link, reduce, or change at word boundaries while the message remains clear.
Link
Carry the final sound of one word smoothly into the next when they belong to the same thought.
Reduce
Let small grammar words become lighter so important words can stand out.
Chunk
Pause between ideas, not after every written word.
Apply it to your own message
Practice prompt: Give a short project update using two or three thought groups.
Transfer
Hide the text and say the same message again. Keep the meaning and structure, but allow the wording to change.
